Fishing Quotes Many men go fishing all of their lives without knowing that it is not fish they are after. ~Henry David Thoreau If people concentrated on the really important things in life, there'd be a shortage of fishing poles. ~Doug Larson There he stands, draped in more equipment than a telephone lineman, trying to outwit an organism with a brain no bigger than a breadcrumb, and getting licked in the process. ~Paul O'Neil, 1965 I love fishing. You put that line in the water and you don't know what's on the other end. Your imagination is under there. ~Robert Altman Three-fourths of the Earth's surface is water, and one-fourth is land. It is quite clear that the good Lord intended us to spend triple the amount of time fishing as taking care of the lawn. ~Chuck Clark Scholars have long known that fishing eventually turns men into philosophers. Unfortunately, it is almost impossible to buy decent tackle on a philosopher's salary. ~Patrick F. McManus There will be days when the fishing is better than one's most optimistic forecast, others when it is far worse. Either is a gain over just staying home. ~Roderick Haig-Brown, Fisherman's Spring, 1951 May the holes in your net be no larger than the fish in it. ~Irish Blessing There is certainly something in angling that tends to produce a serenity of the mind. ~Washington Irving The fishing was good; it was the catching that was bad. ~A.K. Best The gods do not deduct from man's allotted span the hours spent in fishing. ~Babylonian Proverb Somebody just back of you while you are fishing is as bad as someone looking over your shoulder while you write a letter to your girl. ~Ernest Hemingway It has always been my private conviction that any man who pits his intelligence against a fish and loses has it coming. ~John Steinbeck

2010 Season - The new season is underway! With a rockin' new intro from Brian Schram, this is going to be a great year. The crew has been hitting the hard water and got to go after some Ohio River blue cats with Camo Fish Guide Service. Watch for a lot more fishing videos this year as the crew fishes all over Indiana and beyond for multiple species. Stay tuned!
2009 Season - This was a great year for the Bell, Bucks, & Beards gang. Starting in January with a nice channel cat through the ice, to White River sandbar fishing, Patoka Lake, Sullivan Lake, Turtle Creek Reservoir, and more. The crew had fun learning how to fish with remote control boats and the highlight of the 2009 Season was Chase and Troy's incredible Lake Michigan salmon trip with River City Outfitters. Enjoy the videos, and watch for even bigger and better videos coming in 2010!
2008 Season - This season started with an ice fishing video from our "secret spot" in Owen County shot on an old 8mm camera, and ended with Randy putting Chase and Troy on their first muskies. In between the crew had fishing adventures in Florida, Chase bought his kayak, and this is also the year of "the flood", which produced some great fishing out of Honey Creek in Monty and Sam's backyard!
Did Chase Catch and Release an Indiana State Record Fish? Photos and story by Troy Bell. Vigo County, Indiana - On the afternoon of Sunday, May 24 2009, Chase and I were bass fishing at Fowler Park Lake in Vigo County. Chase was casting a Zoom Tiny Brush Hog in watermelon red that his Grandpa Hayes had given him to try. It didn’t take long before Chase felt a fish slam his lure. As he was bringing up the fish, it looked at first to be a big bluegill, but when he brought it out of the water I said; “That’s a rock bass.” Upon further inspection, it was much more colorful than any rock bass we had seen, so we thought it might be a warmouth. I told Chase that I had caught fish that looked like this before, just never one that large. This fish was probably 1½ to 2 pounds. After taking pictures of the fish from different angles, Chase released it back in to the lake and we continued fishing.
